Abi Adie’s home

Delighted to share a beautiful, colourful home in Perthshire.

The owner, Abi Adie’s starting point for the top to toe renovation was her late mother’s love of William Morris.

Sanderson recently launched a stunning collection of Morris’s work, with an updated colour palette. Abi pounced on this and used the designs as accents throughout her home. Yes, she wallpapered the ceiling and yes, the Ottoman is also a Morris in an updated colourway. She pulled out favourite shades and boldly used them to colour drench rooms and to paint furniture and fittings, ultimately creating an eye-popping scheme worthy as a set in the recent Barbie movie, although I should definitely point out her plans were firmly in place before the movie was out.

With the help of interior designer, Terian Tilston, who offers an excellent service creating bespoke furniture as well as beautiful soft furnishings Abi has created a truly unique and highly individual home.

So inspiring and useful to remind ourselves that painting a room mouth watering combination of water melon and blackberry or apricot and lilac is no more expensive than sticking to safer taupes and neutrals.

Abi trained as an art curator and is now studying painting and quickly realised that making bold colour choices creates a wonderful backdrop for artwork and beautiful fabric choices.

Pattern and colour are natural friends actually and complement each other perfectly. Clever pairing can brings much joy to your home.
